The Virginia Yacht Clubs' Mid-Winter Reunion is a scheduled group event at Bitter End January 21 - 29, 2003. Members of a selection of yacht clubs in Virginia have been offered a special rate and schedule of events for this period. The week features a combination of organized regattas, cruises, and individual sailing on the Bitter End fleet of boats with sailing on the Freedom 30s as a centerpiece. The schedule is not over-filled with organized events in order to allow plenty of time for the members to enjoy the regularly scheduled core activities and the facilities of Bitter End. Provisions are in place for the clubs to increase or decrease the level of organized competition according to their wishes. As a central theme to the event and to foster good natured inter-club rivalry, The Coastal Living Cup will be presented to the yacht club with the best combined score from the organized events. Nick Trotter, organizer of the inaugural event will be organizing the trip, providing personal service and will be on site at Bitter End to see that this event is the best ever.
